Governor Gondswill Akpabio while expressing what prompted him to build the akwa ibom stadium, explained that sports is now a lucrative venture which can turn the life of a beggar into a multi millionaire with respect and fame.
The governor in his words sighted Champion Boxer Floyd Mayweather "Can u believe that Floyd Mayweather made $120m in a fight which lasted just 72mins, I really wish I was a Boxer because no governor in Nigeria makes that".
He also went on to pray that Champions likes Ronaldo, Serena williams and co are churned out from the newly built facility.
